Eh? It is a truth universally acknowledged that all potatoes are modelled upon Wayne Rooney.

However, facial challenges aside, I will admit to finding myself moved this evening to phrases such as, 'The boy done good' and 'Over the moon', not to mention, 'Four-two you w@nkers". *cough*

I need a lie down now. Pass the sal volatile Alphonse.

I also think Frank Lampard looks a little like a lost school boy on the football pitch.

I must admit, last nights game left me a little moist in anticipation. The tension almost drove me to wet myself. However, with a toilet nearby, I felt there would be little justification for this.

I think we can go all the way, yes.

Isn't Rooney, sorry, "Roons", damn ugly. And sadly that ugly football head of his is going to grow even bigger courtesy of the tabloids. Marvelous.

Irritating that he's actually one of the country's better players. I still think he's a twat though.

I wish England would get kicked out of the football, end of all this fuss around here. Wimbledon's after this, which means for more fuss.

All professional footballers need to be shot - or better yet, severely (and painfully) mutilated. I can't describe how much satisfaction that would bring.

Football is a gentleman's game played by hooligans.

I think they're taking the piss in the way that they're calling Rooney the next Pelé, yes Rooney's performance was very good last night I won't deny it and is probably at the moment the best asset that Everton has, but they're assuming too much and setting high standards, it's like Beckham, the Media over publicise about him and he isn't that great, plus he's quite shit at taking free kicks and penalties these days too.

Though I can't see Rooney staying at Everton for much longer, he'll probably end up like Michael Owen, he was only 18 in France 98, now he's 24 and he still isn't that great.

I am happy to support England but they do take the piss at times in the way they promote themselves.

I don't really think you can blame the team for that though. It's the tabloids who publish photos of Rooney scratching his balls during training. It's part of the culture in this country it seems to build people up to nearly inassailable levels; no doubt people will be bored of it after England have won/been knocked out.
