What the hell is a townie? :?
There is not much of them in Surrey it's mainly Goths and Sk8ers
Indeed they aren't.

However in the more "poorer" parts of normally salubrious suburbia, you do get an infestation of them. Hooped earrings, keen Argos shoppers, 300 carat gold rings on every finger and hideous cars that have been modded to hell and back with 3000 watt subwoofer systems in the boot with the music on full blast (typically crappy drum 'n' bass or some similar shite).

Other typical charateristics are having a cellular telephone pretty much glued to their ear all the time, a fag in their hands and a complete inability to speak English in an erudite and coherent manner.
Spelling 'Skate' with an '8' should be.
Not very often I agree with you Cheese Head, but I will on this occasion. I completely hate people writing in text speak when they are not on a cellular telephone.

By the way, it's Skaters, not "Sk8ers", Barrett. You've been listening to too much Avril Lavigne. Also writing in text message speak is a sign of turning into a townie/ned/charver/ken. ;)

What is it with the hate between skaters/grungers/goths and townies/neds/charvers/kens? Why are they so at each other's throats? :?
Bye the way Neds/Townies/Chaver/Scally are the same thing just called different names in different parts of the country.
They hate Goths and most of them think Goths are Gay which isn't true.

Actually, you might find the majority of that 60% are Bi, for some reason the aforementioned goths etc tend to be bi.

Now find me a gay townie! haha!

On Saturday I went to visit my dad in St. Anne's (he *doesn't* live in Blackpool, he keeps insisting) and came in via Blackpool North station because we were visiting my gran that evening in Bispham (North Shore). To get home we drove down the Prom... not somewhere I've been at 9pm on a Saturday night for some time... the townie quotient was sky-high, I have to tell you. Chavs of every persuasion - chavs on stag nights, chavs on classy nights out with their birds, chavs eating kebabs, chavs having fights. And they all move around in packs of five or more.

Haven't been out in Blackpool in a while and I don't think I want to now. I'd fear for my safety, wearing as I do rather too much corduroy.
