Tell me about, it takes fooking ages on my 56k speed modem!

Speaking of modems, just thought I would add this in. I was reading one of my old .net magazines from 1995 and there was an ISP who was offering a 14.4 speed modem for £200 or 28.8 speed for £300! Barg!

The Nowmusic website is really good for the flashbacks but the loading times drag it out a bit. The worst thing is the menu is not accessible until the whole site is launched.

I have the following Now's

Vinyl: Now 4 & Now 8 (I got Now 4 for £2 in an independent second hand music shop & it was in very very good condition)
Tape: Now 29, 33, 36, 39 & 42
Mini Disc: Now 43
CD: Now 19, Now29-Onwards & also Now 3,4,6,7,9,10,11&14 USA versions

Talksport were discussing the NOW range this morning, mentioning early NOW cd's on ebay that are currently up to over £200, was NOW 4 the first cd release, and interestingly a mint NOW 1 is worth about £30.

Unfortunaly all of my NOW LP's are very well played, as they came from charity shops so I don't really expect them to be in mint, apart from the Now/Smash Hits special edition which I have in nearly new condition.

Normally Now 4 can get on average £300+ per auction. Makes me wonder if getting the complete CD collection is going to be worth because it's gonna be expensive!

There's one guy on Ebay at the moment selling his complete Now collection in blocks of 10 with the exception of the 50s range, 8 and 9 as a package and 4 as a singular. With hours to go, he's going to rake in a minimum of £700!

To honest I was hoping that Now Music was going to re relaease them on a limited edition for the 20th anniversary instead of the "deluxe edition". The American versions still have all 15 available in shops in the US. Over here I have got all of mine in a HMV shop in central London, there not cheap mind.

I actually remember on Ebay at first they only sold for about £20, wish I had the internet back then.

I'm 100% certain NOW 4 wasn't the first NOW release on CD. The first one was simply called NOW '86 and was simply a compilation of hits from that year. The first numbered NOW album, that I remember seeing in WHSmith's at the time was NOW 8. Remember you can only own a complete set of every album to date on cassette, and yes NOW 57 is on cassette, I saw it today in HMV.

Anyway, I have:

NOW's... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26

Cassette (athough my tapes are 300 miles away in Sussex so this is from memory) :
NOW's... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, and several others after this, numbers elude me. Lastest I know is NOW 35.

CD:
NOW 42 (Er... that's it!)

Your right in saying that Now 86 was on CD but the first numbered CD Now did start at 4 but did not start again until 8 but properly started off with the same sort of songs as the vinyls from no 9 onwards.

Depending on how much you want to complete a CD collection of Now then be prepared to pay no less than £300 on Ebay for Now 4 unless you can find it on a car boot sell for 50p!

Brad, that's quite an impressive list you have there. You more or less completed the vinyl editions as they only went up to Now 35.
