"More useful everyday"
Jummy whatshisface doing Dictionary corner on Countdown just came up with this one:
"Hong Kong - It'll take your breath away"
- used by the tourist office just before the SARS epidemic.

Well I've had a look around about this. W3C call it "World Wide Web" and that is what the original web browser was called.
Now according to the ever useful dictionary.com Worldwide and world-wide are exactly the same therefore in theory "world wide" without the hyphen would mean exactly the same.
Now taking the hyphenated form as the main type.
World Wide Web and
World-wide Web mean exactly the same unlike
Extra-marital sex and
Extra marital sex.
Obviously it was seperated to make it snazzy but I cannot see any problems with it grammatically.

Strangely I found this thread coincidentally via a link from an old entry in dvboy's blog - which I found whilst Googling for something else entirely.cat wrote:You really have made quite an effort to drag this thread up again, haven't you?
I'd been pondering on the Tesco slogan whilst queuing to buy a sandwich on Saturday morning, so it was fresh in my mind.
Tesco's slogan is 'Every Little Helps'.James Hatts wrote:Strangely I found this thread coincidentally via a link from an old entry in dvboy's blog - which I found whilst Googling for something else entirely.cat wrote:You really have made quite an effort to drag this thread up again, haven't you?

'Helping you spend less everyday' is POS that you see in store - like ASDA's 'That's ASDA Price' on adverts, and 'Always Happy To Help' in store.

Yeah I agree. I know a few people my age who don't have mums (young people) and think it's a bit weird having that in an Iceland advert. Anyway, I think having 'Iceland.co.uk' as a logo is a stupid idea. :roll:nodnirG kraM wrote:I've often wondered how my friends who no longer have a mother must react to those Iceland adverts...
