Ok, so a pal of mine's mum has bought a laptop with mobile broadband.
This service I assume is being provided by Vodaphone, and on trying to install iTunes its throwing up a "content control" blocking thing. She's called customer services, and without a credit card to validate her age (something she doesn't have), they seem unable to unlock her services.
Any clue how she might be able to either validate her age or bypass this protection?
She's around 50, I'm told.

i'd do it a different way: ring them up and tell them you want to cancel the contract (as vodafone have breached it by not providing you with the service you were sold)
the content control is an absurd notion - my broadband provider never did anything to verify my age and i have free access to all the granny porn i could possibly want.

Thanks doc - that's what I've told her to do.
I recall now my old work mobile had the same thing when I attempted to google "gay bars london" on a work trip. Although it didn't censor "gay saunas london", which is were I ended up at about 4 in the morning.
So there you go.

And I don't care what they say, gay Saunas are an EXCELLENT place to hold those work meetingsGavin Scott wrote:Thanks doc - that's what I've told her to do.

I'm intrigued... what do you *do* in a gay sauna? I've only ever been to a sauna once (and it wasn't a gay one) and I found it the least something-I'd-want-to-do-with-fellow-homosexuals thing ever.

This was some crazy place on several floors like a roman bath house with mock pillars and statues n things. Swimming pools, steam rooms, jacuzzis - and then more private parts of the building. Think it had a bar in there too.all new Phil wrote:I'm intrigued... what do you *do* in a gay sauna? According to something I read in the Mail chiselled naked men in groups tend to play canasta.
So I suppose that's what was happening then.

Oh I thought those were bedsheets.Sput wrote:I heard men in towels just flounced around giving each other suggestive looks.
That's the appropriate thing to wear when one "haunts" in a "haunt", surely?
