Right, I'm so tired after working for two days on this I can't even be bothered to type the usual main technology partner / intersput nonsense. So here it is in a few short sentences.

There's an all new form and an all new tagging system. It's rather fab.

However we've just thrown a few tags up as an example, if you have noticed a glaring ommisssion from the cloud, post it here and we'll update it.

Thanks
xx

oh and before anyone opens their big mouth, I do intend to imagemap the regional maps, but not tonight.

by the way, i just installed vista from clean, has the upload service always looked that bad in ie7? i thought it would look OK as it worked fine in IE8 but it seems completely monged. why didn't anyone say?

IE7 is just awful, whereas IE8 does finally render fairly standards-compliantly. Certainly worth sticking IE8 into IE7-mode, and adding a conditional stylesheet for it. A lot of the common problems come down to it not computing line-height correctly, and not supporting inline-block, among many others...

so had anyone ever used the upload service in IE7 or were you all just being quiet?

While it wouldn't hinder anybody's use, I noticed this message at the top of the window:
You've got GOT NO UPLOADS

Not any more. Apologies for the broken links on the newly fabulised top menu too: Hyma abandoned his post and HASN'T BEEN BACK BECAUSE HE'S SHIT so it's up to muggins here to sort it out.

Also I just made it stop adding millions of underscores to everything because they were annoying. Good old spaces are preserved on all future uploads now!

Bugfix: php and cgi files now work properly (as in, they don't give 404 and they don't execute)

I uploaded some stuff privately and it appeared publicly. Someone found it.

When we press show in public library, why is it visible when searching tags.

because the question is not "would you like this hidden" it is "would you like this hidden FROM YOUR LIBRARY."

Say you uploaded gmtv-secret.mp3, tagged it gmtv, and unticked the box.

It WILL NOT appear in your /beep profile (as you unticked the box)

It WILL show under /tagged/gmtv because you tagged it. (although the uploader will show as "?" and not beep.

So, if you want to keep something completely invisable, DO NOT tag, and UNTICK the box.

Probably should add a note about that on the form.

...and, it would seem, on all the old ones, too. Like a number of other users, I have a space in my username. Before, all my uploads were listed under "/Silver_Nemesis" (without quotes) and now they're all under "/Silver Nemesis" - which means every link on TVF to anything I've ever uploaded on Metropol is now broken.

Was it really necessary to get rid of the underscores?

Yes, insofar as there was an ambiguity: if someone had an underscore in their username their files would never be found. If I get hyma to disallow underscores in names then I can have that back the way it was. Please bear with me.

Yes this is intentional. If people really hate it I'll change it but for the time being I will point out you can remove the tags manually by going to the relevant file in your library, pressing [+] and clicking the little x's that are next to each tag.
