I am taking my nieces to the cinema this weekend and was going to go see Monsters V aliens (yeaa!) in IMAX - the problem is I am Red / Green colour-blind. I know I probably wont get the full 3d effect but will it be watchable? cant find anything on the interweb about it. Any thoughts or opinions?

• Can a color deficient person experience 3D movies or stereoscopic images?
It depends on the color vision deficiency, and the degree of severity. A color vision deficient person can see recent 3D movies devised to be seen with glasses using crossed polaroid lenses, but not the old style 3D movies devised to be seen wearing anaglyph (red-green) glasses. Redgreen colorblind people do sometimes have difficulties with red-green anaglyph images since although the colors appear similar, the intensities are rather different - the red image typically looks darker than the green.
I am guessing that the IMAX films are done with polarising filters so you should be fine anyway.

EDIT: Yes there are polarising lenses in the IMAX glasses. Presumably they are the size of ones that Blanche wears in Coronation Street.

I am afraid I am unfamiliar with these depressing northern soaps you are talking about :)

The reminds me of stewart lee's message to the North: Not EVERY town has to have a cake named after it.
