In any case I predict that we will go through each old theme progressively leading back up to the current theme.

You're already superbly good at being wrong in the past and present: do you REALLY want to be wrong in the future too?

as much as i love the new look metropol, the old theme has something quite serene about it.

also shows just how in the last couple of years, the layout and complexity of web pages have changed so much.

i'd like to thank gavin and pete who invests so much of their time in building this community, it's a nice little corner of the web and although i don't have as much time these days to contribute i greatly enjoy reading the forum when i can. here's to another five years.

aww, that's to those saying thanks :)

does anyone else find the lack of "new post" icons on the forum list incredibly annoying? it's easily the thing that's getting to me the most.

Lorns! No mention of the skin? I thought you'd be incredibly excited by the purple!

Me likee the purple. I hope Metropol sticks around another 5 or 10 years so that one day I can lambast noobs for not understanding an obscure metro-meme like a prestigious 'first 5 years' member undoubtedly would.

Oh man. I need to get a job!

Congrats to Gav, Hyma (and previously Martin) and all concerned with Metropol for a successful 5th birthday. May they have many more birthdays.

Hyma - was I first to spot the 07/08/03 BBC link then? :o (Just wondered)

Oh. You're back. How long have you been? Knew you wouldn't be able to stay quiet for very long.

Now now, let's be a nice welcoming community.

I could do with someone categorically wronger than me.

How much longer is this purple awfulness going to continue ?

I realise it was for the birthday which has since passed. Is Metropol the kind of place that keeps it birthday cards on the mantlepiece for a week after the event ?

It's just a massive retrograde step, all very similar to TVF, bring back the desktop the receipt et al.
