Faceparty "fucks off to the zoo"

Faceparty recently ran a promotion whereby if you uploaded a picture of yourself in fancy dress, you would get free "cooltools". Cooltools is a package for premium paid members, giving you more options.

Some members weren't liking how long it was taking to get cooltools after uploading their fancy dress picture, some spouting the same "libel", "slander" and "im going to sue you" comments we've seen on here.

So, they've taken the site down, and "fucked off to the zoo".

Take a look. It make's quite good reading...

Is that for real? Is that the level of professionalism of Facebook staff, not to mention their appalling grammar and spelling?

I don't give a hoot about "cool tools" but I don't think I want a profile associated with such a firm.

I'll consider deleting my profile.

According to Wikipedia, staff levels will fall from 18 to 4, after being acquired by a new company.

This could be part of the problem...!

Who? I have vague recollections of Faceparty but it was shit then and it remains shit now. Very surprised it's still going.

faceparty used to be *the* social network of 2003-2004, it was pretty cool compared to myspace, standard clean profile layout, fast loading pages and easy searching, but facebook has completely killed it.

faceparty did a purge of 'older' members citing the reason they did so was to ensure that younger members were not being groomed and that some of the older members were using faceparty as a dating site (but were faceparty not running adverts promoting the use of the site to getting laid?).

shame, was nice and slick back in the day, but i can't see it lasting much longer now.

I'm guessing all this 'non-profit' bollocks started when the investors pulled out, realising the site would never become a success. Their inability to redesign the site coupled with the apparent willingness to allow porn spammers take over half the profiles has obviously left someone rather bitter.

The girlfriends/shags I've had from Faceparty were all nutters anyway.

It's important for websites to remain strong, and not bow to every whim of it's members, but one member on another forum raises a valid point. Having paid money to become a premium member, he is now restricted from accessing the site as are all of us. I know that if I was him, I too would not be pleased.
