We have structural damage to report.

One roof tile has come away and landed in the garden.

I left an answerphone message for a builder at 6am, when it happened, in an attempt to get to the top of the queue; then followed it up at 9am.

Any bets on how long till it's fixed?

No, thought not.

I've seen a roof tile on the pavement this morning. Also, my wheelie bin has fallen over.

That was a good plan, Nick, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Builder is probably having a cuppa waiting for some water damage to get through so as to increase the value of the works.

If I were the unscrupulous type that's what I'd be doing.

I'll see your rooftiles Nick and Rob (although I suspect Rob stole Nick's rooftile and attempted to pass it off as his own) and raise you a fence.

Good lord, sorry to hear that it's utter carnage down your way!
Ronnie is victorious, vivacious in victory like a venomous dog. Vile Republicans cease living while the religious retort with rueful rhetoric. These rank thugs resort to violence and swear revenge.

But Ronnie can punch through steel so they lose anyway.

That's the eye of the storm, there will be an irritated flowerbed very soon and everything will go to pot from there.

Why is everyone wetting themselves over some wind a bit more rain than usual?

I honestly think that people in this country have mostly become utterly useless. God help us if there was a proper crisis.

EXCUSE ME

Do you know how long I had to wait at Cambridge train station due to "a tree on the line"?

Three hours!

I feel perfectly entitled to cause a BIG fuss.

Well move the fuck out then.

Honestly, you're just soooo negative and sneery. It will age you, Jamez.

I'm actually very pissed off.

I was supposed to take my bike to be MOT'd at lunchtime. On the basis of the forecast I cancelled it and moved it to Wednesday.

At lunchtime today there wasn't a breath of wind, the sun was shining. I sat in the garden and had a cup of tea.

The forecast for Wednesday is for gales and rain.
