I know nothing about hair, but for something I'm filming over summer I need one of my actors to have a certain style of hair, however I have no idea what it would be called in the industry so I don't know what to get them to ask for. I've managed to find a picture,

He does some nice period lace-fronted wigs (lace fronted wigs need to be glued to the forehead and give a natural hairline when you apply makeup over it) and he will sort you out.
I was browsing his website today as a matter of fact.

I'd call it. 'Oi you need a haircut!'
Theatre isn't really my speciality, which is why Gav is my senior artistic stylist. If you would rather your actor to grow his hair, you really need him to accompany you to the hairdressers with a pic of the look you are after. Book a consultation at a salon.

It might cost you £40 a week to rent a wig (maybe more), but you will have at least have no concerns about continuity. Film and tv wigs require a finer lace front - you need to specify that when ordering.Bail wrote:Perhaps I should point out that this is Film not Stage.
