The latest word is sometime shortly after May 8 when the NI Stormont Assembly is back up and running.
There is scheduled, an substantially cheesy shot of him and the Irish PM along with the two leaders of the assembly standing at Stormont and waving to everyone below. Infact there's several opportunities for loads of good PR shots scheduled into the day, and with lots of important-ish people there such as Clinton and potentially John Major. Expect a speech along the lines of "in my time i've brought peace to NI, I'm off"
It's a good PR day and will gloss over any bad news that comes from the local assembly elections just a few days earlier!
When will Blair go?
If you're right, I'll send you a crisp new Adam Smith £20 note!peterrocket wrote:The latest word is sometime shortly after May 8 when the NI Stormont Assembly is back up and running.

It was discussed but no one knows yet, but more than likely will just for that reason - perfect opportunity for a few votes!marksi wrote:Will Hillary be coming with Bill I wonder? Nice little election shot for her given the number of Americans who think they're Oirish 'cos they once ate a potato.
Not only that - it could also be good for Bertie Ahern, since he could be leaving with a General Election in Ireland on 24 May.
According to some press releases Blair could be gone by the 1st/2nd of May and as Laboru voter it's about time. Sadly Brown isn't going to improve matters either, it should really be several candidates standing.
Whatever happens by 2008 we'll have a different leader for the UK & one for the USA, lets just hope the alliance between us & them isn't like it the Blair/Bush partnership

This a bad time for the UK. We haven't got anyone we want as PM so we will end up with a "nobody" in 2009.
This tirade over GB is a fiasco, he knows he will lose a General Election, but then again he's older than the bloke he's pushing out, so does he want to do a swan song and take some credit?
This internal Labour stuff is A JOKE.
Can someone address this issue and think about governing the country?
