Last week i had a little jaunt to Southend to see the lads and to meet up with a load of friends. It was an amazing couple of days. About 30 of us met up, with a few travelling from Scotland and Jersey for the gig. We had a major booze up in the Varsity bar before heading to the Cliffs pavillion. We got to the pavillion when someone said don't go inside just yet i've got to make a phone call. Within minutes Simon the drummer joined us and we went hunting for a pub near the venue for a pint or 2. Simon has got to be one of the coolest sweetest chaps i've ever met. It was well funny, all these young girls walking to the venue in the opposite direction to us. One teen even said, that looked like Preston. Hehehe, she never realised how close to the mark she was. The first place was too small for us all. The pub we eventually chose was just right. I'll never forget the look on the bar staffs faces as 30 odd of us wandered in. We drank, smoked, and joked with little drumer boy.

During the drinking session the tour manager G/f rang me to inform me that the after show meet was off due to Pweston and some of the crew being ill ( good job i didn't blab to the others eh! we was gonna have food, drinks and a preview of the album with the Ordinary Boys after their set). I was supposed to choose a select few to join us. That was never going to be an easy list to make, so in a way i'm glad it never occured. Apparently Pwestons doctor advised him to cancel the gig. Like a proper little trouper he decided to continue with the tour, but cancel the meetup.

It was probably the first time ever in my gig history that i missed the support acts ( Little man tate and the on/offs). Too much chatting in the bar and posing with the flag. Some guy who won 1/4 million on Who wants to be a millionaire had this Ordinary Army on manouveres flag embroidereed.

The boys set was awesome as usual, they played a few tracks from their new album and they were shithot!

I moshed for a bit, still got the bruises. I'm getting too old for all that now. It's also the first gig where kids with their parents have been sat in the balcony eating Popcorn... Fucking popcorn at a gig. And the security at the front of the pit didn't even give out water. The Cliffs pavillion obviously doesn't understand gig etiquette. Give me Chinnerys next time eh!

The weather was shit, my accomodation was well lush, the company the best a girl could wish for and the band didn't let me down.

Can't wait for December...

Dirty Pretty things playing Folkestone at thee Leas cliff hall. Think i'll go for a seating ticket this time heheh!

You didn't hear it from me but....

The geezer in the papers who scored the lowest in specialist round on mastermind is the bloke who owns the Ordinary Army flag. But Sssh! I'm not a gossip or anything!

I'm proud of that flag you know. Some of the bestest people i've ever met are at OB gigs.

P.S anyone have any footage of this story on Look North i think it was on?

I'm not a gossip or anything but her at number 24 hasn't washed her nets, and the bloke at 54 is having an affair with her at no 33.
