it's almost impossible to get on again tonight, i don't read/post there that often anymore as my interest in television has waned over the years but as it's still a good read i do browse most days.

anybody in 'the know' have any ideas when this new forum software is going to be deployed?

I'm not "in the know", but I DO have great expreience of the sadministrator's speed at fulfilling previous promises on improvements, so I'd say the year 2056 might be optimistic.

With the greatest respect Nick, this is a project that Asa has been working on from the ground up and has taken a lot of effort. I've no doubt we'll see the fruit of his ambitions soon (either that or he'll just install the new version of phpBB  ).

I woldn't disagree with that for a moment.

I'm simply saying that, given the dates on which I've reported problems to the sadministrator in the past, together with suggested solutions, and given the dates on which the solution has actually been put in place by the sadministrator, then I'd definitely put my money on Paul Rusling's little radio station on the Isle of Man going on air long before we see anything of the new, sadministrator-coded TV Forum.

Fucking hell, they're fora, not super-bloody-markets. Anyone who starts a new one to attract TVF members will inevitably end up sharing the members, people aren't just going to say "fuck it, I'm not posting there no more, that place is way cooler."

For all its faults it's a tidy business operation.
James, what are you on?

The vast majority of our traffic relies on TVF - the only member (apart from the spambots) I am aware of who found this place without finding TVF first was missh.

MP247 needs TVF more than TVF needs MP247.
