ARRGHH!

OK, I was looking for a website for drivers for a piece of old hardware ive got, and i ended up on some warez site. They asked me to download a plugin to be able to download the zip file, so i did. the plugin installed and i downloaded the zip but it was corrupted.

now, whenever i surf the net in IE, i get loads of popups for gambling sites and stupid things like emoticons and stuff!

I've run Ad-Aware and nothing has been found.

Help me!

I don't think System Restore does that. I think it only restores the files in the Windows folder. To be on the same side though, back them up.

Yeah it'd be fine. The only danger is it destabilising the system. Also, make sure ad-aware is up to date.

By the way, does this metrobinge represent your triumphant return to broadband, jamez?

Yep, although it did take 91 days from when I ordered broadband to actually being connected.

BT had to dig a hole in a field about a mile away from me and fix a "major" fault in their network.

However, it is a 1Mbit connection (956Kbps at the moment), but Tiscali keep disconnecting me every few minutes, and then I have to wait another 20 seconds for the modem to re-sync and then another 10 secs to connect on the PC.

I've got a Creative DSL router here, but I messed around with my NVidia network card and now it wont work properly on my desktop PC (works perfectly on my laptop though).

Is that an odd view of a pair of headphones or have you been auditioning at Llandaff for the part of a cyberman?

It's an od pair of headphones, although they are very good. The big white studio ones do my head in and the sound quality isn't as intimate as I'd like!

Oh, and I've solved my adware problem!

Just a case of asking Norton where it was, finding it, restarting in safe mode, deleting it and it's friends and restarting!
