Hey guys,
I am looking for students who love film who are studying in either Chester, Portsmouth, Leicester and Gloucester. You must be ideally studying a film related course or Business/Marketing undergraduate degree.
Here's the details:
Student Brand Ambassador.
The Lounge is a marketing agency targeting 18 – 30s. We are currently recruiting students to work on an exciting project for a leading film distributor.
What the job involves:
- Liaising with 3 or 4 local cinemas – developing relationship with the local cinema managers and meeting with them once a fortnight
- Monitoring the Point of Sale in cinema foyers for the client’s films and reporting back to The Lounge and through relationships with cinemas helping to ensure more point of sale is put up in accordance with the client’s agreements with cinemas
- Attendance and presentation at film screenings in local cinemas and other local / regional events
- Liaison with local press over film releases
- Ideas on student marketing campaigns
- Reporting fortnightly back to The Lounge, including photos and ideas
The rewards:
- £510 per term
- Free cinema tickets
- Digital camera (for campaign use)
- A termly film screening and night out in London (all expenses paid)
- Excellent marketing experience for your CV
- Potential for other prizes including premier tickets
Applicants MUST be:
- Ideally second year students but applications from students in other years will be considered
- Marketing students or a burning desire to get into marketing when you leave uni
- A demonstrable love of film
- Must have a car or have easy & constant access to a car
- Must be sparky, fun and confident and bursting with ideas
Must be available:
- For interview in London at some point in June 2006 and should you be successful, for an induction day, screening & night out in London during summer.
- To carry out cinema visits every 2 weeks during term time

So i suppose you wouldn't consider anyone over 30 with tons of life experience and good communication skills when if pushed could sell you an empty crisp packet but is willing to learn

If you have a read of the actual job role you may realise that it's nothing like the job you have described whatsoever. This is a great opportunity for any student who would like to pursue a career in Film Marketing. It's a foot in a door. Why do I get the funny impression that this job opportunity's proving to be just a tad less popular than the one for a refuse disposal operative?
Do I also assume that the thread title started as "for Buena Vista", but got edited when it became apparant how popular the job wasn't going to be?
