Any version of "O Holy Night" - although "The Prayer" (Josh Groban et al.) is a heavy contender too.

What are yours, fellow Metropolians?

Christmas Shoes by Newsong is easily the most emotional Christmas song for me, but possibly too tragic to call it my favourite...

A toss-up between Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl and Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses.

It's embarrassing to say that the best version I've heard of "O Holy Night" was by Michelle McManus. It was certainly better than Andy X Factor's version on Saturday.

I love "Fairytale of New York" too.

In Dulci Jubilo by Mike Oldfield. One of those odd christmas songs that doesn't actually contain anything to directly tie it to christmas, but is a christmas song anyway.

Fairytale of New York and A Spaceman Came Travelling are great songs too.

Fairytale of New York without a doubt, only because it is Christmassy but it doesn't over do it unlike Slade and Wizzard, which are still both great Christmas songs.
