I was in London today, and had a wander round Selfridges, and they were playing bloody christmas music and have the decorations up!!! Harrods was the same, but Harvey Nicks was very sombre, but still the lights were up.

Wilko have got the Christmas trees in, and I bought something in Southampton the other day and got a free box of Christmas crackers!

I mean, for f**ks sake, it's mid-September! What next? Easter Eggs in...

Well, The Cadbury Cafe in Bath have got them in already... £19.99 for a 1kg egg stuffed full of little eggs....

...I just HAD to!

My local Tesco has got all the Cadburys Xmas stocking packs and big family size tins of Roses and Quality Street on display - three months early. And at Asda in Warrington two weeks ago they had all the Halloween stuff out - two months early.

Who buys all this stuff several months in advance? Some morons must do, or the supermarkets wouldn't waste valuable shelf space on it.

Tonight's TOTP2 on UKTVG2 was a Christmas Special...

At Morrisons in Warrington (and presumably Nationwide) has had it's Christmas stock on sale since the 5th September, and the funny thing is people are buying it already.

I noticed the TOTP2 thing tonight, though its 3 and a half months too early, it had a nice choice of tracks on it, presumably this being a slip on UKTV's behalf.

I heard Christmas music on the TV for the first time yesterday. Admittedly, it was on one of the shopping channels.

It's not even October yet. Do these shills have no shame?

You claim on TV Forum to have found a BBC publicity brochure about Christmas today too. Which I'm rather doubting to be honest, or at least would be very surprised by.

I pretty sure it was you who was talking a load of old tosh a few weeks ago about BBC ONE NI, satellite feeds and interactive 11+.

Am I just in irritable form tonight or should I post a big picture of a train?

I too have noticed that christmas chocs are making their way into the supermarkets. They do it every year in September. The Xmas stock is normally on the shelves before the Halloween stuff, fireworks will be on sale soon ( they cost a bomb). Easter Eggs are on the shelves in January. It's crazy.

I do like Christmas but every year it loses it's magic for me. People seem to get more materialistic and greedy. They spend obscene amounts of money and then the shops have sales in January. There is very little goodwill amongst people during the Christmas shopping ( Grocery and Gift). It is very Me! Me! Me!

Or maybe i'm just unlucky when i do my shopping..!

I love the day though. Dining, chatting and relaxing with my family and friends. Playing games after consuming copious amounts of plonk and having a real good laugh.

I forgot to mention Santa. I love Santa too even if he has forgotten about me. He hasn't left prezzies in my stocking since i was about 25. I'm beginning to think he dosen't exist

................ you won't have any stock at all after next Friday when their delivery drivers go on strike.

I thought they were closed today due to one of their shop assistants having been (aledgedly) murdered by their (aledged) stalker.
