Who can advise on how to unlock a Nokia SPVM2000 to allow it to go from Orange to Vodaphone?
The man at Orange say it can't be done; but I've said it can.
For the love of god someone needs to help me.

I'd just take it to one of those phone shop things you find in market places who sell fascias etc.
It does actaully say somewhere on their site that they do, I think there is a charge, have a hunt and see. You might wanna try calling vodaphone. I dont think they will but its worth a try.Gavin Scott wrote:Who can advise on how to unlock a Nokia SPVM2000 to allow it to go from Orange to Vodaphone?

It's £15. Don't blame me if it's all fraudulent and nasty.

There is also a free manual tool available here - but be sure to read the disclaimer carefully first. The Orange SPV M2000, in case you weren't aware, is based on the HTC "Blue Angel" reference design; as you can see on that page, the tool is designed for, among others, Blue Angel-derived handsets.

Many thanks to both of you.
I'll present both options tomorrow to the owner of the phone.

Ok boys and girls, the exe file was tried and didnt work.
We switched from Orange to Voda today (on our company phones) but it comes up with "no network available" although it was showing O2 and Orange previously.
Should I take it to one of these shops who say they can do it?

Try asking Vodafone, either in a Vodafone shop or by ringing them. If your firm's just gone over to Vodafone, you should have a contact number for your own liaison person.
After all, it's in their interests to help, to get another phone on their network.
It's always difficult to get the network which is losing a customer to admit that it's possible.

Beleive it or not, our liaison man ( a very, very nice man) told me that if I could get it working he would offer me a job with Vodaphone on the spot. But then I get that type of offer a lot.Nick Harvey wrote:Try asking Vodafone, either in a Vodafone shop or by ringing them. He doesn't seem able to do anything more about it, except offer a similar Voda SPV at a reduced cost.
Being a Scottish firm, I'm going to pursue the less expensive option in the first instance.

Helpful in that it confirms that there is no reason (legal or otherwise) that it *shouldn't* work, as well as a couple of interesting links. I'll crack it.marksi wrote:http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bi ... 4048,51164
