I loved Duran Duran (especially Roger Taylor (the drummer)).

True story...
I remember walking past a branch of NatWest about 3 years ago and seeing a display of 80's record covers in the window. "Throw out your 80's musical crap and get £50 (or whatever) of HMV vouchers to spend on decent stuff from today!" it said, or something like that... you get the idea. What annoyed me was that some of the bands in the window were still going and still releasing good far better than any R&B rap crap from today. Worse, Pet Shop Boys seemed to be represented by 75% of the covers and pictures in the window, the remaining 25% being stuff like Tiffany and Falco! I've been a PSB fan since I was 10 so I was having none of this. I could have gone into the branch and asked them what they were playing at but nope, I had a better idea. One quick email to the webmaster of the offical PSB site and the covers were taken down 2 days later. Neil and Chris apparently thanked me for "bringing this to their attention!"

I never really liked 80s music, but...

And that's about it. Other than the odd hit like "Pump Up The Volume", the 80s never really did it for me.
Queen, my favourite band, went through an awful creative lull in the 80s. The 70s were definitely their hayday.

T'Pau! Ha! Hated China In Your Hand but their other tracks were great. Valentine and I Will Be With You. Got thier album somewhere! Anyone heard Ricky Gervais' 80's band 'Seona Dancing'? The track they always play to embarrass him on chat shows is actually quite good. Probably in my fevered brain only!
