Actually nwtv2003, I think I've been to Stockton Heath with my mum to one of her friend's house. If I recall correctly, we went over about 3 bridges to get there. I also remember it being quite residential, with lots of trees. ;)

There isn't a dogs home nearby is there? One for Bearded Collie's?
Theres a dog home on the A50 (I think) on the way to Lymm, pratically in the middle of nowhere.

It doesn't suprise me about the bridges, there's the Manchester Ship Canal, the River Mersey (Well it's not in SH but it's near) and the Bridgewater Canal too.

I agree with you TVD the traffic is very bad, its probably because of the Thelwall Viaduct, but between the London Bridge and Loushers Lane, which is 0.7 Miles, there are 7 sets of Traffic lights which doesn't help. Parking is still bad, doesn't help now as recently Somerfield introduced a Pay and Display system!

Walking is far better to be honest.

Just out of interest CraigF, in which way of 10Miles do you live? ie, North, South?

I've got a bit of a thing about Brutalism... I even don't know why, but there's actually something I slightly like about it. Perhaps it's the lovely folk who frequent the buildings

this page is especially interesting... note that some actually have listed status!

The Good News for us Warringtonians is that half of the Golden Square is being demolished right now, they've knocked down most of the multi-story Car Park and the Bus Station is scheduled to go in July, but that means there's a temporary one for about a year, but I don't care, as it's good to see them go.

What, they're not going to stop doing 9/10 'location' scenes in a disused quarry up the road from TVC are they?
Somewhere you mean up the road from Broadcasting House, Cardiff*?

* Or whatever the BBC building in Cardiff is called

Most of them would benefit from being built the same way they did with the Mall on Princes Street Edinburgh.

Frankly I think all buildings in that wretched excuse for a town could do with disappearing... they're all built pretty much immediatley after the war bombing and the area's inhabitants reflect the buildings.

Elephant & Castle is great - it's proper South London! All these South London people are getting above their stations. If you want to live in the retched South then you have to live in a ghetto.

Incidentally I know some lovely people from Southwark - it's a lovely part of the world.

Absolutely hideous!

Plus the flats there are really quite expensive... I get a beautiful view of the place from my house :-) And to knock down the Nine Elms Cold Store in place of it? Have to be joking!
