I was also caught 'abusing' H&S regulations.

Was hoping for something a little more juicy, Jamez!

In my days as a smoker in a non-smoking office, some of the best decisions were made at "management meetings" in the back yard, where two or three smokers were having an informal chat.

Thankfully the higher-ups appreciated this and took an attitude similar to those at Gavin's place.

On dry summer days, some of our very productive meetings could go on for three or four hours at a stretch.

We've just had them installed at work, which now means I can't sneak out for a fag in the afternoon. Im really quite miffed at my boss's decision. Has anyone else had this? What can I do, bar wearing a ski mask...
You should definitely quit. I quit my first proper job for very similar reasons and never regretted it. And anyway, you don't really want to work for an employer who has such a low opinion of their staff, do you?

Umm... confused.

Why is having CCTV cameras at work a reflection on the boss' opinion of the staff? There are many good reasons to have security cameras recording the comings and goings in offices and other premises. One hopes that you never *need* to refer back to the tapes, but they are not a bad thing to have.

Odd advice, Jenny. I couldn't support your conclusion I'm afraid.
