I never did understand the whole bp flower thing. Anyone know what idea behind it is exactly?

Having a shot in the dark here; but perhaps it's to make BP's image seem more environmentally friendly and, erm, green? :?

Okay, then. This thread looks pretty fun.
I'm touching on re-naming which is a wee bit off-topic here as we're on about strengthening existing brands, so sorry in advance.
Got a bit of a BT theme going on here. Here goes:
BT:

now

Cellnet:

then a re-name was in order to create

Anyone recall BT's LineOne?:

then change of name to

Ooh, I think I'll indulge in another one (I'm just coming to terms with the fact that I'm a bit of a branding follower and closet trainspotter all in one..)

ScotRail
From British Rail to early nineties (under National Express):

Bit of a spruce up:

and a paint of the trains (rather nice):

Oops, lost the franchise to First (or Worst if you prefer) who 'created' this:
Image

and repainted about one train for their launch:

with most others in the old colours with squint First stickers covering up the logo, or just in limbo, running about like:

I liked NX's brand and little logo, but First have totally eradicated it nearly everywhere. But even they can't get the little
Image logos out of the train interior carpets.
