does it have any odd interactions with other medicines?
That's not a question forum members can answer, Katherine.

You should see the Doctor if you haven't already; but drug interactions shouldn't be second guessed. It's not nice if you get it wrong.

I know.

Pyriton syrup (an antihistamine) is very mild, but even so - check with your doc.

Anyone got any ideas as to how I can relieve the mouth blisters?

When I was in hospital last March, I was put on a huge amount of diuretics. So this made me come out in very itchy blotches. The piriton was given to me to relieve the symptons. I can't vouch for interactions with other medicines but it does make you drowsy and don't mix it with alcohol, which if I recall you don't drink anyway! Mine was on prescription, so see your doc!

the best solution to this i can find is to mix some instant mash granuals with a 50% salt water solution and gargle for 6 hours a day whilst standing on one leg.

edit: i've just read your other responses and on speaking to a friend who is an unlicensed hand podiatrist, instand mash has several interactions with dotheipin hydrochloride. the side effects include obesity and mania. i'll have another chat to him tonite and if he gives me an alternate suggestion, i'll post it here.

Do not squeeze or encourage the discharge of any spot - especially on your face.
Yep, I have chicken pox when I was 3 years old and squeezed a spot (although fortunately it's on my body and so not noticeable). Almost 20 years later, the remnants of the scar left by it are still there. Don't scratch!

UPDATE: Tube still in, and it's spread to both my feet now!

I have also been seen by my doctor again, and I'm now receiving anti-viral tablets (cyclovir or something like that) and Fucidin ointment.

if you have got a shingles or chickenpox based lesion around your gash, you certainly shouldn't wax or shave until it has cleared up completely.
