Where can I download Windows Movie Maker 2?

Hello there,

The computer I'm writing on now hasn't got Windows XP on it, but my brother has just purchased a new XP computer. We've been trying to find out a place where we can download Windows Movie Maker 2 to the computer I'm on, because this is the onlyt computer with the internet!
I've looked at the Microsoft website and the Windows XP site and have only been able to find a "Service Pack" with Windows Movie Maker on it - and lots of other websites (ZD-Net and Download.com for example) claiming to have WMM2 on it link to the wrong place!

If anybody could help (or understand what I've written quite frankly ;)) it would be appreciated!

Ta, Joel. x ;)

It should be available from Windows Update.

Alternatively, it (v2.1) is installed with Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Thanks guys, but this is exactly where I ended up before and I can't find where on that site the place where I can just download WMM2 on it's own!

Sorry if I'm being a bit of a burden!

Hmm, looks like a Service Pack 2 jobbie only then. What's stopping you installing SP2 then? That'll give you Movie Maker 2.1. Order a CD.

I get the impression that Microsoft software updates and stuff like this is eventually going to be tied into a "if you want this for Windows XP you must have Service Pack 2 installed" type requirement. I can't see any other reason why MS haven't made it available separately.
