if you have, do you have any experience of it 'freezing' up sometimes? or working, but unable to connect to the web interface until its rebooted?

i can't find anything on this on the creative labs website, or in the newsgroups, so i'm just wondering if any of you metropolers have had any such difficulty with this, or any other router?

My DSL 504 router does this, randomly freezes and needs to be unplugged to reboot before it will work again.

So far I have no idea why it does it this.... I've just upgraded it's firmware and made a right balls up of it so it's not working at all now.

Anyhoo. Using File transfers in MSN6 also causes my router and a few others in the series to freeze up until rebooted. With DLink the solution to everyproblem is the Firmware... then when it goes wrong there is no instructions to help you get your router back.lol

thanks for that bb. i've done a more generic search in google groups, and it seems as though many many different brands of router suffer from random lockups, there was a firmware update available for my router, which i've applied so i shall see if that fixes it.

it certainly seems my router is quiet sensitive to electromagnetic surges: during a lightning storm last night i found that it kept locking up, and today, when i turned on my monitor (the router was on a shelf directly below it) the same thing happenend.

I've got surge protection on my modem and while never triggered for me is quite a good option

I've got a Netgear ADSL Modem/Router and that tends to get particularly hot - heat and electronics don't go well together - maybe its overheating :?
