I don't know if anyone else has noticed this promotion yet but they're giving away various BBC DVDs inside large boxes of Kelloggs Cornflakes.

I got episode 2 of series 2 of The Office but there are five other DVDs to collect: Life On Earth, Jonathan Creek, Match Of The Day, Delia Smith and Little Robots. You can see which DVD you're getting through a window on the box so it's not a lottery.

A few quirks relating to this promotion that I wished to discuss:

This is the FOURTH different episode of The Office that I've got on a freebie DVD – two others were free with the Daily Mirror and one was free with Maxim magazine. I'm convinced that if I wait long enough I'll have the whole lot! I've also got 3 different Fawlty Towers DVDs in similar ways.

The Office DVD from my Cornflakes is rated 12 by the BBFC and 15 by the Irish Film Censors Board – so does this mean you've got to be 12 over here and 15 in Ireland to buy the box of Cornflakes that contains the DVD?

Finally, on all four of my freebie Office DVDs, the "Handbags and Gladrags" theme tune has been removed and there is just silence during the titles and credits. Any ideas why?

As much as I detest cornflakes, this does indeed sound interesting.
I too have two episodes of The Office from the Daily Mirror, along with Absolutely Fabulous (they have given the same episode out free twice!!), Red Dwarf, Porridge and a couple of others I can't think off out of hand. I also have The Germans edition of Fawlty Towers from a DVD Magazine and a poor quality VCD of the first episode of the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Filmwise, I've got a joint Brief Encounter/The Ipcress File disc, Cabaret, Educating Rita (which I now have twice seeing I bought it originally)and from the TV, Cold Feet, Coronation Street and two I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here discs. Poor me. ;)

It doesn't sound like a bad offer, it is just a bad choice of DVD's, the majority of them don't interest me (except for MOTD) and I got The Office Series 2 as a Christmas present last year, as well as Series 2, Episode 1 with The Mirror last year too. But I have a few of the free DVD's, here's my list...

Minder (2 episodes from Series 1, I had to send off for it with a token from The Sun a few months ago)
Fawlty Towers, Waldorf Salad (Came free with The Sun)
Coronation Street, Number One (Again The Sun)
England 5, Germany 1 (The News of The World)
Wallace and Gromit (The Mail on Sunday)
The Ipcress File/Brief Encounter (My mum wanted those ones, but again The Mail on Sunday)

It's still not bad, considering how much DVD's can be at times.

I feel sorry for any poor kid being ID'd for Corn Flakes!

Probably because of royalties, or rather the large amount they would have to pay to have such a track licensed for free distribution on the sides of cereal packets.
