Possibly how ridiculous the site is.bilky asko wrote: Tue 07 Oct, 2025 09.56 It's not something that needs renewing or the permission of the site being linked to; what's there to wonder about?

I see. An unusual hobby but I suppose whatever floats your boat but I understand the anti-slop sentiment.MoeTheMan2025 wrote: Fri 10 Oct, 2025 18.14He's on about making fake logos for channels and such. And hello to you too!
Back in't day, some users used to create their own versions of TV Idents and presentation. Those were called Mocks. They used to have a featured place on TV Forum and TV Live Forum. When Pres Cafe launched, they decided that they didn't want users posting mocks anymore. This caused some early outcry, but they still don't have mocks on the website. That's for a few reasons:
1. Most of the mocks (mine included) weren't very good. They were mostly Jpegs on Powerpoint slides that were screenshotted. The very good ones were few and far between.
2. There were a lot of users who were, to put it politely, blunt with users who posted mocks. And to be more honest, some users were downright horrible, and it caused a lot of issues in the community.
3. As the years went on, less people were posting mocks anyway.
Hope this is a good explanation.
Yes it is a good explanation, thanks.Blewatter wrote: Mon 13 Oct, 2025 18.58Back in't day, some users used to create their own versions of TV Idents and presentation. Those were called Mocks. I've had a look at some of them and the quality ranges from superb to dire. I "dabble" with Adobe as part of a "self-guided recovery plan" but there is no way I'd call myself an artist.
Bullying on forums makes me sick and its a major reason why I choose which forums I use very carefully.

I don't really post on here these days, but I'd thought this is worth mentioning - This new rule 14 that Pres Cafe recently introduced is absolutely ridiculous. I tried posting a link to a video of a recent rebrand (that I recorded myself might I add) on my YouTube channel on the International News Presentation thread not long after it happened, only to be met this morning that I have been given a warning for breaking Rule 14 - yet similar posts from other posters have been approved.
Not only that before that I tried posting a link on the Irish TV News Discussion 2.0 thread regarding plans for coverage for the upcoming Presdential Election here in Ireland from one of the main broadcasters here, and I got a rule 14 warning for that as well yet other posters' posts on similar links got accepted.
Are the mods secretly trying to have me banned from the forum? The moderation on the forum is very strict - even more that on both TVF and TVLF - and the fact that international users are now blocked from even accessing the site (based on previous posts on this thread) - including the dedicated international threads on both the channel and news sections - is just bizzare.
I think it's fair to say I more than likely won't be posting on Pres Cafe again - and such a shame too, cause I really enjoyed discussing everything TV presentation with others and in particular reporting on any TV pres changes on the main broadcasters here in Ireland to a wider audience.

I had no idea what Rule 14 was (the moderation being so strict I've not felt the need to memorise the rules), so I've just read it.TVenthusiasm2 wrote: Tue 14 Oct, 2025 08.21 I don't really post on here these days, but I'd thought this is worth mentioning - This new rule 14 that Pres Cafe recently introduced is absolutely ridiculous. Is it really that hard to post videos with comments that actually add to the discussion, or give context?

It seems I've been banned or suspended from using Pres Cafe as I presume because I used one of TVenthusiasm's video recordings in one of my last few posts? I can't tell whether or not it's a consequence of rule 14 or if they've just given up trying to give me chances to redeem myself.
Granted, I am glad I can still read the forum, just that I can't post. So much of the decisions they've taken over the years of their existence, even frequent posters of a DIscord I'm part of, Broadcast Plaza, just mention how bad the moderation and rules are, not to mention the international block they've put upon its users. And BP is intended to be a community for media discussion, far more popular in terms of news discussion but they do have a GB/IRE channel to discuss British TV pres. Though compared to PC, they aren't treating their users awfully or being secretive about their moderation.
Is it really a cafe, or is it just a school for the privileged? A TV Forum gone rogue?
Also, I salute you MoleTheMan2025 for using my profile picture, though I'd recommend you change it lest people confuse it for me.

Yeah agreed the moderation is just insane. I'm sorry you got banned from linking one of my videos - I never steal from anyone and any videos on the channel were recorded by myself - the international channels in particular were recorded from their websites. I may just move on to Broadcast Plaza at this stage because the mods at Pres Cafe are just too strict.JetixFann450 wrote: Tue 14 Oct, 2025 10.05 It seems I've been banned or suspended from using Pres Cafe as I presume because I used one of TVenthusiasm's video recordings in one of my last few posts? Discord has a feature where you can favourite certain channels. From experience, and given I'm already friends with one of the BP mods anyway cause they share a friend group server of mine, BP seems very big at first but in actuality most people stay in their own bubbles and rarely ever venture beyond their respective country channels. Plus they're really friendly at least. I have partook in some conversations, like the recent Kimmel scandal.1mbroglio wrote: Tue 14 Oct, 2025 10.55 Doesn’t look like a nice place to me.
