The cafe now has an '8 item breakfast' option, where you can select what you want. No more having to order the standard breakfast and pay extra for items you want, even if you'd asked to remove a different item.

Surprised they're still knocking about, my local store had them removed during covid and replaced with a trolley self scan.Charlie Wells wrote: Mon 02 Dec, 2024 11.44 Also, at my nearest store the 4 'self service' conveyor belt trolley tills have been removed. These used to be incredibly frustrating, not least as the scanning and bagging area were temperamental. In its place is an expanded self-service area, with the more familiar (and reliable) style of checkouts, some of which have wider baskets for bigger shops.
I stumbled across this screenshot of mine (upload date: 2012) as the voucher offers on some credit card, and it looks like a who's who of failed or failing stores.
What are the chances the number of closed options is >50% before the end of next year? Frasers, HMV and Homebase have to be the ones most at risk, although perhaps HMV will survive for the same reason that Waterstones has.

Homebase is already gone, The Range have bought the brand and aren't keeping any stores open. Some are being converted to The Range though.cdd wrote: Wed 04 Dec, 2024 17.38 I stumbled across this screenshot of mine (upload date: 2012) as the voucher offers on some credit card, and it looks like a who's who of failed or failing stores.

HMV is doing quite well though nowadays I believe, sure it's quite profitable.
It depends on whether or not you class PC World as having closed or notcdd wrote: Wed 04 Dec, 2024 17.38 I stumbled across this screenshot of mine (upload date: 2012) as the voucher offers on some credit card, and it looks like a who's who of failed or failing stores.

I can’t see Boots closing or Waterstones, and whatever people think of Mike Ashley, I imagine he’s got House of Fraser under control with a tight focus on costs
I think for this you have to apply the Norton Test.Andrew wrote: Wed 04 Dec, 2024 23.01 It depends on whether or not you class PC World as having closed or not
If you can buy a computer from Curry's without someone trying to scare you into buying a copy of Norton Antivirus, then the spirit of their existence is gone.

Well, the pcworld.co.uk link has redirected to currys.co.uk for a number of years now. I don't think the PC World name crops up anywhere at all now, been a while since I've seen a shop with the joint Currys / PC World branding.
