The local Poundworld was unusually quiet today, while the Poundland was packed two doors down.

It doesn't surprise me - the strength of their catalogues is the sheer amount of choice in sizes and varieties, you can't translate that to a retail presence with shops around the size of a small HMV or Waterstones split between 2 or 3 brands.
