Bail, I'd heard the redesign was going to be a wonderful fusion of the much loved art of studio mocks crossed with the admiration for supermarkets...

OK. I've been talking to phpBB developers about features. Regarding my age I am not 16 as I was born in 1987. It was a mistake. Regarding the forum. Who owns TV Forum out of interest. I am also thinking about a quick reply button...
You need to talk to David. ("davidlees" on here.)Dillon Lawrence wrote:OK. I've been talking to phpBB developers about features. Regarding my age I am not 16 as I was born in 1987. It was a mistake. As an interested party, this does please me.Dillon Lawrence wrote:As stated previously, any unwanted changes will not be made

I am still very interested and pursuing acquiring Metropol (including the upload service etc.)
Here is an example of the menu bar (at the top of the site) with more to come:
http://up.metropol247.co.uk/Dillon%20La ... apture.png
Logo, colours, background etc. would also be tweaked to match the current Metropol style
The upload service would also receive improvements (such as load times reduced and features added).
A move to XenForo could also be on the cards. It's excellent forum software and would add much-needed features to Metropol:

So your discussions with phpBB developers have pushed you to wanting to use a completely different bit of software?Dillon Lawrence wrote:I am still very interested and pursuing acquiring Metropol (including the upload service etc.)

Yes and no. Check out Area51 (on the phpBB site). phpBB 4.0 has been delegated to 3.4, and there has been a feature freeze. For now it's just bug fixing going on. It's important but XF is also bug-free.WillPS wrote:So your discussions with phpBB developers have pushed you to wanting to use a completely different bit of software?Dillon Lawrence wrote:I am still very interested and pursuing acquiring Metropol (including the upload service etc.)

oh I'm not sure about the upload service. That is custom software written by another forum member and I'm unsure whether they are willing to sell as part of a deal.Dillon Lawrence wrote:I am still very interested and pursuing acquiring Metropol (including the upload service etc.)
I'm curious as to how you intend to achieve faster loading on the uploader, it's quite snappy at the moment.

No it's not. Very very few pieces of software are bug free, and they're extensively tested and built to much stricter rules than a piece of open source software - we're talking things like air traffic control, space exploration, weapons control - stuff which if it goes wrong (and it still does) can have very bad consequences.Dillon Lawrence wrote:It's important but XF is also bug-free.
The idea that XenForo is bug free is laughable.
Also, interesting that that theme is designed for Joomla...
Also, if you are also able to purchase TV Forum, would you be intending to move that to XenForo too?
