He's not as roly poly in real life.
I have noticed the SNP, such as Sturgeon last night, straying away from the independence question. I suspect they know they'd probably lose it if they did bother and thus have been pushing it further and further towards the "our aim is to *ask* Scotland" line.

Indeed, even bio-Dimbleby and Laura K, who were somewhat mealy mouthed about him describe him as "statesmanlike" and even "presidential".
He may have dreadful halitosis but he comes across as a capable intelligent man.
He's no as green as he's cabbage looking. The vote will be pitched as "Scotland's right to determine their destiny".
Yay.

If I lived in Scotland, I'd have voted SNP even though I would certainly vote No on independence.
For one thing - I don't understand who Scotland could possibly be better off out than in, they must surely receive a serious treasury handout given all the things Scottish citizens have which English citizens don't.

Well done to the SNP, there managed to get 53.49% of the vote, this does means that anyone can win a maj in this parliament, it has always been possibly, no one actually believed someone could 50% of the vote......
As I said before, and even by STV Bernard ponsonby what was the difference between the two? it come down to two points the leaders and Independences vote. ( It should be pointed out that labour vote held up, its only down 0.5%)
Alas this does open out a hugh can of worms:
David and Nick and there crap collaltion only managed wait for it 14% it give them even less of a mandate that before and Alex can now stick his two fingers up to them as say no were not doing these cuts....
Nothing to stop alex, in any shape, I doubt he will win the Independence ref.
my money is John park snow for Labour new leader...

Anyways I should point out I did edit my first post, as the % share of the vote for SNP has changed it went up, thus it does reflect the 69 odd seats. SNP and Labour are both centre left parties, its been wildly report there was very little difference between BAR the leaders and that Vote.
Since the dust settled, we can have a proper look at the results, which I have to say in some area very shameful..
2010: Westminster election: Turnout: 2,465,722 around 63.8% . Yet this election only managed to convince
Turnout of 1,989,222 around 51%. I do found it strange that main issues like health etc a good 13% of people just don't care, yet vote for UK alots any suggestions?
The Lib Dems lost 25 deposits after failing to win 5% of the vote in many areas, this is what happens when you let the Tories in. It happened to the SNP remember in 1979, there voted down labour government, and it took the snp over 10 years just get somewhere.
I got feeling labour will won the most seats in Scotland for next Westminster election in 2015, then crash and burn for the 2016 with the snp winning again.
