there was a piece on watchdog about private parking tickets again (basically private firms not complying with the industry code)
anyway, a few people in the film seemed to have been unnecessarily pissed off by the notices, but given that the private company has no legal means to obtain the charge, just chuck it in the bin surely... i personally wouldn't pay a private parking ticket anyway.
have any of you guys received a private parking ticket? did you ignore it? pay it? or appeal it?

As has been said, I wouldn't even bother fighting it. Just ignore it. The worst that'll happen is it gets sold to a debt collector, who will also do nothing more than write you a few nasty letters.
Give also that Private clamping & towing away operations will also be made illegal before the end of this year, it would appear that the end of the road has been reached for the utter scum that is the private parking enforcement industry.

I take it there bring the law in line with Scotland then and only allowing Police and DVLA to do clampingcwathen wrote: Give also that Private clamping & towing away operations will also be made illegal before the end of this year, it would appear that the end of the road has been reached for the utter scum that is the private parking enforcement industry.
England and Welsh forces do not employ traffic wardens anymore; it falls into the hands of local authorities under the Road Traffic Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004. Police Community Support Officers (not like the Scottish Police Custody and Security Officers) are the police body in charge of traffic management and that is a secondary function to the role of a PCSO, most English and Welsh forces do not have wheel clamps, so it will just be the authorities doing the clamping, I imagine.barcode wrote:I take it there bring the law in line with Scotland then and only allowing Police and DVLA to do clampingcwathen wrote: Give also that Private clamping & towing away operations will also be made illegal before the end of this year, it would appear that the end of the road has been reached for the utter scum that is the private parking enforcement industry.
