Just a quick note that the BBC are experimenting with a high quality streaming version of Radio 3 during the Proms.

From the few times I've listened it does sound quite exquisite compared to the standard streaming. They even seem to have impressed the notoriously hard to please readers of the internet blog

I'm going to fill in the survey and ask if they could extend this trial to all the stations and make it permanent as it really does show how good the BBC's audio quality can be when not compressed to buggery like on DAB.

Long time reader, first time poster - wanted to say thanks to Peter for the link. Listened to it on my Sony MDR-7509HD headphones and it sounded fooking amazing. Hope there is lots more of this.

As announced yesterday, this has now been rebranded to "HD Sound" and is being offered as a permenant option for live streaming for Radio 3 (and other selected events on the other radio stations) from December.

This is great. Loved the trial.

Quite looking forward to "HD audio" on mobiles soon (according to Click).

I believe Orange are already doing HD Calls, if that's what you mean, Gav.

Have suggested to Bob Harris, via Twitter, that he asks the right questions to see whether his R2 Sunday Morning show might be considered as a testbed as one of the 'other network' trial programmes.

Seems interested.

The link you have given in your post is not working properly for me...
Either I have a slow internet connection or the link is dead..

Both links work fine. You must have a slow internet connection.

Besides, Pete's post is dated September 2010. It may have slipped your notice that we are currently in a time zone 6 months later than this; unless you are writing from the past, in which case, could you please tell my past self to watch out on October 4th as I will stub my toe on the edge of my desk. Many thanks.
