Might one enquire why you find that story baffling?Chie wrote:
If only.
My local paper's section on deaths, births and what-not on the day of the paper's publication contains the oddest of people.
Here are a few:
On this day:
Adolf Hitler born - German politician, famous for World War Two
Joseph Fritzl - Famous for sexual abuse and kidnapping for many years

Is this the Evening Star? I love their billboard headlines, they always make me laugh. They are getting more and more Daily Mail each and every day. (My personal favourite is "Ipswich Sex-pest Cabbie Caged")Critique wrote:My local paper's section on deaths, births and what-not on the day of the paper's publication contains the oddest of people.

Not as baffling as most on here, but I love the fact that Newcastle City Council felt the need to swap a Christmas tree "secretly", "under cover of darkness".

From the Manchester Evening News
A prank caller who rang police claiming Coronation Street's tram explosion was a real-life disaster is being hunted by cops.
The hoax call - lasting nearly five minutes - was made after Monday night's episode of the soap, then posted on the internet.
The called, who identified himself 'James Martin', rang police control and said: "There's been a big smash.
"A tram's come over the top of the thing and smashed down on to the nightclub and shops.
“Little blonde Max is missing... I know Rita is stuck in the shop.”
