So for those of us with TV XL and Virgin Broadband we now have access to the new Virgin Media Player (beta) site
http://www.virginmedia.com/player/
So far it doesn't have much however it'll be interesting to see if they eventually sync up all of on demand on the telly with this site. I wonder if they did it might hit their second box sales.
Virgin Media Player
I'm "qualified" to use it but I don't think I will that often. Sky Player allows you to watch live TV channels including Sky Sports which would be major selling point for me if I had Sky.

Hmmm interesting. I'm a Virgin subscriber and eligible for it too but don't think I'll use it much.
The content isn't that great and it's all on-demand. the ability to watch live channels (like Sky subscribers can) would be more useful. Also it's limited on mobile devices - I don't have an iPhone so the use of flash isn't a problem (if you do have an iPhone you can't use it at all), but according to the FAQ I can't use it on my phone via Wifi, only on 3G and that's going to be a pain to try and use. Also you have to pay extra for mobile use.
