EDIT: Although looking back at it now, he should really have used "AVEC" to counter my "SANS". I wonder if they teach French at his primary school. Mind you, a lot of Brummies have enough trouble speaking English....

Its actually driving me bonkers, and I'm having to read a line of text to be clear who is saying what.
