My County Council's logo - I'd say it's pretty nice.
Nice, but confusing on first site. Normally I get logos right away eg, the fed-ex logo but I thought that the two large letters were a "g".

Scunthorpeshire's logo. Absolute horror show to be honest, Humberside's shield logo was much better...

I must be the complete opposite to you - I've always got our Council's logo, but not the FedEx logo until someone pointed it out to me.

This is what happens when logo designers try to be clever : not everyone gets the logo.

Here's the logo for Cheshire East which only came into existence last year when Cheshire County Council was split into two.

It's not a bad logo at all, but what I really love about it is the fact that it was designed in-house by one of the council's staff, so it was effectively free to the taxpayer.

Warrington Borough Council's logo, I think it's been around a couple of years now, it's quite unimaginative, it used to be a crest of some form, but they changed it for this generic nonsense.

That is Suffolk County Council's logo - nothing special, but not too bad either.

That's Ipswich Borough Council's - although, they only have it in the footer of their website, preferring a plain text logo for the header.

And these haven't changed their logo for a hell of a long time...

These changed theirs recently...

Hampshire has a relatively boring and safe logo. Go to http://www.hants.gov.uk to view it since it will not appear here despite me having uploaded it twice.

Previously they used a special logo for small print purposes but this is no longer 'allowed'.

I'm not actually sure what my Borough Council's logo is - St Edmundsbury.

I can however provide neighbouring examples. Cambridgeshire County Council have:

While Cambridge City Council have:

I like both but think the County Council logo is simpler and more effective. The City Council logo seems a little "busy" to me.

Here's a look mat the logos of the Greater Manchester Councils. Some horrific, some not so horrific.

In the last few years, Trafford council has had a major rebrand from this:
Image To this: Image

Salford on the other hand have had a more subtle rebrand from this:
Image to this: Image

I've also just discovered that Bury council have rebranded from thier rather dated logo:
Image to one that looks like it's been done in word art: Image

Oldham's another to rebrand recently, changing from:
Image to Image

As has Bolton, by the same design agency as Oldham and Salford, though I can't find an example of it's old logo:
Image

Manchester, Rochdale and Stockport all opt for coat of arms type logos and haven't changed recently, not that they need to really:

Unlike Tameside:
