I use Firefox for now, because of drag and drop tabs, and various extensions. But I have taken to doing all my video streaming in Chrome, due to Firefox and its greedy ram gobbling!

I am not adverse to changing though, and I await IE9 with some interest.

I myself am a Safari user. I did at one point change to Chrome, but then it slowed down, and Safari 4 was released, and the 'Top Sites' images looked so well presented I had to take a look, I use Chrome only when Safari decides my internet is broken, and Safari has earned Default Browser status.

So I have decided to move back to Firefox after a week or so with Chrome. There were many things I liked about it but too many downsides, I shall go into detail later.

However first a question, with all the "so and so to drop IE6" stuff atm, can I check what browser is currently in use on the BBC desktop?

IE7 by default. A reasonably recent version of Firefox is freely available to those who request it.

So where exactly in the Beeb do you work then, Mr Stedd? I know where to go to hear Mark's dulcet tones.

IE is needed by ENPS anyway (IE6 for the IIS bit).

You seem to have suddenly gone very quiet, Mr Stedd.

Which page of the BBC Directory might I find you on?
