I felt mortally offended reading your insulting diatribe last night. 'How can 20 million wankers be wrong?' I thought to myself. Then, about 15 minutes ago, I remembered that's exactly how I feel about football fans. The X-Factor / BGT is great television. Taken too seriously? Yes. Treated as though it were important in any way? Yes. Polluting the music industry with nonsense? Yes.

I note he was asked which channel got closed to keep Parliament on air, but chose to answer a completely different question instead.

Let's remember that BBC Parliament wasn't at the beginning a BBC PSB channel. It was a cable channel called The Parliamentary Channel; somehow the BBC got hold of it and it became a PSB channel. It could quite easily go back to being a commercial channel, but how it was funded beforehand I can't remember.
