DAB Ends in Ireland

DAB has ended in Ireland following RTE’s decision to stop broadcasting on it. All their digital stations remain online.

Not surprising given how few people listen on digital there, though things might change if Bauer’s takeover of Communicorp Ireland is approved.

DAB hasn't seemed to live up to the expectations here either though. Many people still prefer FM and others have transitioned straight to online or smart speaker platforms.


I predict that DAB will close here way before FM.
