I read this as 'Mars on the way out' and was ready to start stockpiling Mars bars.

Andrea Leadsom has just resigned...

My call would be Friday morning once the EU election results become clear.

Who honestly thinks a different PM is going to manage this debacle any better?

At least they could pick a direction and try and try to convince a majority to follow with it being clear what they do and do not stand for. Either go for a remainer's brexit with a deal being mandatory with second referendum/Peoples Vote (TM) /confirmatory vote/whatever it's called this week to confirm it or go for a leaver's brexit with a deal being a nice to have but no deal being an option and no second referendum.

May's downfall ultimately has been based on her fence sitting and trying to appease everyone, leading to her satisfying no one. I can think of no other parliamentary bill in my lifetime where MPs of such diametrically opposed viewpoints ultimately voted the same way to defeat it.

Don't think we will know the result until Sunday when the polls close in the EU as they vote on Sunday.

Something that’s being missed in all this about May resigning...

She will have to go to the Queen to resign and suggest her successor (ie the new Tory leader). That person then has to command a majority in the House of Commons, otherwise they can’t form a government.

So say Boris becomes leader, the Queen invites him to form the government, and then either the DUP refuse to back him or a couple of rebellious / mischievous Tories vote against him. I’m not convinced the next Tory leader will automatically become PM.
