So, having gone all the way to Venice to recreate my old avatar. I have decided to treat you all by increasing the size of avatars on the site. So you can now have bigger ones on desktop, and clearer ones on mobile.

They're still locked to 16:9, but they're now bigger.

Old SD avatars: 150x84. Max file size 80k

New HD avatars: 300x168. Max file size 200k

Pls get updating, lest you be judged to be one of the crummier former EMAP music channels which is still inexplicably SD.

oh also, apparently the new version of the media tag embed thingy now doesn't need you to explicitly use the [ media ] bbcode, just pop in the link and it'll magic it into a lovely embedded thing.

Also things with opengraph metadata like links to news websites will now display nicer.

The way it was laid out when I first saw it made me think it was an advert initially.

Do you know why Metropol never keeps you logged in on multiple devices? I’ve never had this problem with other forums, but I always have to log in again if I’ve previously done so elsewhere.

it's not a setting I've set on here nor is it a problem I've noticed between my devices. Could only suggest cleaning your cookies in case its a dud old one.

You do realise, Mr Hyma, that not everything looks better in HD?

Although it may also be down to not me having changed my avatar in too many years...
