I'm not sure, however, taking over a despicable rag like The Mirror from a declining industry is the best way to exterminate left-wing opinion, as cityprod seems to imagine goes on.
1. Richard Desmond doesn't care about whether or not he's cannibalising the audience, the Mirror would just be another venue, another means to get his message out into the public arena. It's the same thing that actually drives Rupert Murdoch to buy up as much as he can, he wants his message, his vision spread far and wide.

2. I think you're confusing overall vision of conservatism as a whole, with the not insignificant impact that removing the Mirror's left wing bias would have in our country. There would be no left wing mass media in print. (I don't count the Morning Star as mass media as it's circulation is so much lower than other national newspapers.). Whilst there are other avenues for left wing opinion, none have the same reach or mainstream impact that the Mirror does.

Why don't you count The Guardian?

Simple. It's not a left wing paper right now. It's trying to maintain the centre ground and backed the Lib Dems last elections, whose positions were closer to the 1930s National Liberals, than to the Liberal Party that the SDP merged with.

They supported Labour at the last election. They also have prominent Corbyn supporting writers such as Owen Jones on their staff. Keep up.

Quite correct, it was the Lib Dems in 2010.

As for having Owen Jones, they also have a wide range of writers offering varied opinions. It's not really that far left wing at all. Most of the news coverage is pretty much straight down the centre line.

Trinity Mirror have confirmed they're attempting to acquire the Express and Daily Star again.

Deal done.

I wonder if they'll close the Daily Star? It seems redundant to have two tabloid dailies and three tabloid Sunday papers (Sunday Mirror and People already share some content).

Surely this will mean the end of the People?

Given that the Mirror are staunchly Labour it will be interesting to see if they shift the Express away from its right wing, human waste audience, or at least lessen the amount of demonising of minorities its scum readership revel in.

Indeed the same goes for the Star, will they scrap page 3 and introduce longer words or will they continue to pander to the current illiterate audience with big bright pictures and words of no longer than 2 syllables?

I wonder if the two titles will start reporting actual real news as well and if their fake weather service will be closed down. Will we see a decrease in Diana and McCann stories? Will they continue to print deceptive price decreases on the front cover?

Whatever happens it's certainly an interesting time for print media aimed at the lesser people we walk amongst.

The people who read those papers are wannabe Hitlers and deserve zero respect.

You're acting as if The Mirror is a reputable publication...
