Though I presume you mean in percentage terms.
Yeah I did mean %s, where UKIP are down 6.4%, compared to the Lib Dems who are up over 9%, Labour and Conservatives down roughly 1% and Greens down 3%. Seats possibly not such a great indicator given FPTP nature of local councils and the low start for UKIP - still good news for Lib Dems though - but then again they have always done well in locals.

UKIP can't move to an anti immigration ticket. The media would hound them out of town and eventually they'd suffer the same fate as the BNP have done. I think they'll be better as an alternative for the working class who have some right-thinking Liberal ideaologies but for whom Labour are too anti-enterprise. Conservative Socialists, if you will.

UKIP is the old right wing element of the Tories, mixed in with the xenophobic element. Where as a bigot may not vote BNP or Britain First, unless they're far-right, they'll feel more comfortable voting for them. They achieved more than any of the far-right parties have ever done by adding a mainstream element to their policies.

However their older skewing voter will drop as they die, so will have to attract younger voters, however I still think there's a risk they'll make some inroads into Labour heartlands if the Kipper candidate can touch the right nerve with Labour voters. Even more so if the current Labour MP is a moderate. (However, they may get deselected for the 2020 election!)

BNP and Britain First have neo-Nazi baggage, which UKIP doesn't.

" "All the people that we see today that are Ukip supporters and that are pushing the Ukip message seem to be singing from the exact same hymn sheet as Britain First. You know I can’t see absolutely any difference between the parties, so it's really good to see them".
She added: "What we’ve been saying to the public is look there are two credible parties who have candidates standing in this by-election, the first is Britain First and the second is Ukip. If you don’t vote Britain First then vote Ukip because quite frankly, as I say, the old gang and these alternatives haven’t got your interest at heart."
- Jayda Fransen

Britain First, a far right extremist group who have pledged to protect UKIP during the General Election have attacked a meeting held by Beyond UKIP, a cabaret group who conducted a protest in Nigel Farage’s local pub two weeks ago. The group, barricaded themselves into an office whilst Britain First leader Paul Golding and his thugs shouted threats to the group which included pregnant women.

Doesn't make it any less insidious or deviant.

I just had an email back from Labour, I am now no longer a member. I feel a bit sad about it, but with the direction Corbyn & Momentum are taking the party, I really feel like I cannot be a member any longer. I may rejoin in future if things look up and Momentum get flushed out, but until then...

Part of the problem now is I don't feel there's any party I can vote for. I despise the Tories, UKIP are scum, I still don't trust the Lib Dems after their actions in government, the greens are a bunch of nutters, and I don't trust "independents" after the mess they've made running the local council. So I don't know... in next year's counnty council elections I might not vote for the first time ever... but maybe I'll have to bite my tongue and vote Labour just to keep the Tories and the "independent forum" out.

I understand how some may not like having Jeremy Corbyn as leader, and may not agree with all of his policies. But surely there is much more you do agree with? And remember, you vote for your local constituency MP. If you think they are a good person, with good Labour values. Why would you not vote for them, whether they are a Corbyn supporter, or not?

(I saw this as a May 2015 joined member, before Corbyn was a leadership candidate, and voted for Corbyn both times.)

I'm not a Labour member, but will continue to vote for my local Labour MP who is a moderate, unless she is deselected.

I really hope Momentum hasn't infiltrated my local constituency office with plans to deselect decent moderate MP's because they disagree with Dear Leader Corbyn.
