I think what we wish for is for you to make your points and opinions without resorting to stereotypes or insulting comments. I wonder if that might happen one day?

Fair enough. I'm just a bit sick of people playing the victim card against the "evil" Tories. By taxing rich people out of existence all you do is discourage ambition and entrepreneurship. Nobody's going to have the drive to progress up past a certain point on the ladder.

The route to a strong economy is getting people out of work and who do not want to work back into work and therefore paying taxes!

We have an inadequate road system... let's get the unemployed to build new roads! We need more prisons to be tough on crime... let's get the unemployed to build new prisons! Hospitals! Libraries! Civic Centres! And then staff and maintain them! We could create thousands of new jobs at the stroke of a pen!

That's the best way to ensure quality construction - a combination of the unskilled, the unwilling, and the unable as the vast majority of the workforce.

Who's going to pay for this? Private companies? Will they fuck. They are reticent about paying the minimum wage, hence their reliance on imported cheap labour. They are reticent about giving good training programmes, delivering projects on budget, on time and to a high standard of quality. They want to make the biggest buck out of the least possible investment.

So that leaves.....the state. Nationalised industries and companies. Taxpayer money. Big government. All the things you hate. Check - fucking - mate.

Also - we do not have an inadequate road system, we have a perfectly adequate road system. What we have is too many cars, not enough investment in public transport and no penalties for single-occupancy of large vehicles, no tax penalties for 4x4s, SUVs or crossovers etc.

Actually if you look at the polling he has a greater %age support among 25-49 year olds than he does amongst 18-24 year olds. In fact in the latest YouGov Labour membership poll when asked whether they though he was doing well as a leader 60% of 25-49 yo said he was doing well, compared to just 46% of 18-24 yo - that is the lowest out of any of the age groups. All the stereotypes about who supports Corbyn are actually fairly wrong - his opponents claim he is mainly supported by wealthy metropolitan Londoners - when actually he has greater support among White working class voters and London is the region where his support is lowest. He actually appeals to the old Labour vote, as he makes a distinction from New Labour who failed them almost as much as the Thatcher government. And the old Labour vote can make a difference in elections, because a lot of them haven't voted in decades - in fact almost 40% of those who didn't vote in the referendum identified as Labour.

Your stereotyping is ridiculous, unfounded and akin to saying the only people who vote Conservative are people who live in mansions. Also your idea that building more prisons makes a government tough on crime is diametrically opposed to all evidenced based justice policies - just look at the US prison system - but then you do strike me as some one who takes a Govian view of experts and evidence.

In other polling news - a lot of attention was given to the YouGov poll that had Conservative VI up 10% and Labour down 4%, although the Conservative boost is probably the regular new leader boost rather than a Labour collapse as other pre-May polling didn't show that despite the leadership crisis already taking place. But nobody mentioned the fact that UKIP were down 8% in the poll and their polling numbers have started to fall in recent weeks with the Lib Dems returning to third in some polls.

UKIP have no raison d'etre now. We don't need a loony right party - the Tories will fulfil that role happily while they remain unfettered by a lack of opposition.

That won't get cars off the road, they'll all just drive Fiestas and 206s instead.

I drive a van. Would you punish me for that?

No because that's not a car you dolt. If you genuinely use a van for business, then that's fine.

From a green POV yes. But it wouldn't cut the chronic congestion problems we have in this country.

Imagine the benefit to the road network if just one inch was removed from every car's square footage. And more importantly we need to seriously look at carpooling incentives.
