That seems to be a common mistake. Channel 5 have it on their adverts for Big Brother (unless they've fixed it since I last looked) and, outside of the remit of this forum, there's the Phil Collins song.

They only have to say it in any case for the benefit of the thickos, who probably won't notice that it should be two words.

After all, it means exactly the same if you remove the word from the end of the slogan.

It only needs actually saying, if what they want to get across is something like "Amazing Value Tuesday Mornings Between 10:15 and 10:35"!

The tiles give it away. I'm sure Graham Soult would confirm.

It's a former Woolies. 99p Stores didn't do much to the store when they took over the lease.

The metal framed windows and black effect underneath also gives it away.

Popped into the new Penge Poundland.

Not much has changed, except for wider isles, the florescent lighting changed, which has been there since the Woolies era and some new tills.

I don't know how long it'll last, but they had plenty of staff on the tills and shelving stock.

Some of the ex 99p Stores staff have been kept-on, although the management have been changed and it appears staff from other Poundland stores are helping out.

Why would they disappear? Poundland still has to clear out 99p Stores' warehouse so they won't be discontinuing their product lines overnight.
