Superdrug has its own standalone beauty concept called Beauty Studio. I'm not sure how widespread they are but there's one in Cardiff.

I keep forgetting those brands exist! They seemed to be the only ones scaling back during the casual dining bubble a few years ago.

Noticeable how a lot of the themed chains owned by wider companies seem to have struggled in the past couple of years (see also Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito etc). Not a fan of Nando’s myself but I think they’ve shaken things up by making it something resembling an authentic experience visiting them, which a lot of the other chains don’t come anywhere close to matching.

I'm not sure there's much difference in authenticity of experience between Nandos and Chiquito personally, they're both pretty well dressed up for what they are. Even Frankie & Bennys are pretty well themed (at least the ones which didn't have the weird Happy Eater bland overhaul).
Where they differ is that Nando's don't complicate their price structure with inflated prices and constant offers, and they don't mess with their product constantly. Wagamama and Five Guys have enjoyed success for similar reasons - a decent uncomplicated product presented with little fuss at a consistent price.

I take your point but I feel that Nando’s have invested in the experience a lot more. I just feel that Chiquitos and F&B feel a bit dated. Saying that, I agree on Wagamamas so it’s not across the board.
