Don’t forget a significant number of people taking those flights (without a connection) were just in it for the free Gold card.

I (personally) think the writing is on the wall for short flights where there is a decent train alternative, with KLM being the first to take serious steps in that direction. I use BA’s domestics very frequently but that is because they are far cheaper than the train for short notice bookings and one way or another I don’t think that will remain the case.

well luckily the government has given Flyebe a lifeline - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51113895 I think people forget how reliant some areas of the UK are on internal flights - for example at Belfast Airport there would only be 4 flights without Flybe! Southampton Airport would also be adversely affected without Flybe with only 2 flights without Flybe!

Isn't that, people forget how much some airport operators are reliant on Flybe?

Belfast has plenty of options though, what with them having a proper airport as well (ground transport into the city could be improved though).

Interestingly the sign has been removed, which is why I couldn't tell what the empty unit had been. It was a big 3D sign too not just a simple light box. Dundee is no longer on the stores list on the website. The graun said that "the 20 stores will remain open for now" but the site now only lists 18. Wonder if the landlord for the centre just pulled their lease / they hadn't paid rent.
