I really liked the sign they put up redirecting people to the next nearest store... which is in Nottingham!

That store was always quite busy as a Somerfield and Co-op, never even saw a line after it switched to Budgens.

That happens quite often in Cardiff when a store closes, directing customers to their nearest store in Bristol!

My local Staples has now been rebranded as "Office Outlet" with new red signage covering the old signs

Laser Quest is closing down in Hull. The franchisee has announced it only one week prior to closing, blaming lack of footfall in it's location - but it's funny how the news came only a day before Laser Station launched! The owner probably thought his older venue couldn't compete with the new one.

... And I guess the lease is up, because it's closing soon. It did seem a bit of overkill having two stores so close.

I wonder how many of those were originally Kwik Save stores. I can think of a few that made the conversion to Somerfield and then Co-Operative but didn't make it go Budgens.

Of the 3 I know about (Watton, Sherwood and Sheffield) only Sherwood was previously a Kwik Save - it was completely demolished and rebuilt as a Somerfield around the time they sold Kwik Save off.

During the brief period that one in Nottingham was a co-op, there was already another co-op down the road a matter of a few shops away, no wonder it didn't last long.

From memory ours was a Gateways store when I was very young.
